Getting Started
This is something I have been encouraged to do, wanted to do, and promised myself I would do. So why is it so frightening?

Come Next Spring
My dad was a positive man. Although I certainly remember him telling me "No", I don't recall that he enjoyed it. When he didn't want to say no, but for whatever reason couldn't commit to something, he was known to say, "Well, we will see about that come next spring." This became a well used saying in lean years. It also spoke to me of hope, planning and delayed gratification. Good things were just around the corner. Our situation was bound to get better, if we worked hard and smart and practiced patience. I finally got that horse. My sister got her swimming pool. Then there was the car that got passed from sister to sister. The best spring ever was when my mom got her kitchen remodeled. Dad just couldn't figure how all that kitchen stuff could be so expensive! He also noted that mom did just fine in her small kitchen. That was not the best direction to take his argument! When we were finished using his own words against him, mom was cooking in a new kitchen come that spring.
